Our Green Commitment

OUR GREEN COMMITMENT

Owl Cleaners is pleased to announce brides can now ensure the beauty of their gowns and help safeguard our planet’s beauty, too.  Through its membership in the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, cleaners in nine countries who specialize in caring for wedding gowns and other luxury garments, Business name is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree for every gown they preserve.  In celebration of the bride’s wedding, a tree will be planted in a forest of great need.
Founded in 1972, the Arbor Day Foundation is the world’s largest member nonprofit dedicated to planting trees, and they have helped plant more than 500 million trees in neighborhoods and forests across more than fifty countries.

As Owl Cleaners noted, “Our membership in the Association is an important part of our eco-friendly commitment.  In 2009 the Association began funding reforestation projects worldwide, and the trademarked MuseumCareTM preservations are unique with regard to concern for the environment.”

Association members understand the unique challenges that come with handling delicate and cherished items such as wedding gowns and other luxury garments and heirlooms.  They are certified to ensure that wedding gowns and heirloom textiles of all kinds are cleaned according to established museum-care standards and preserved in archival-quality materials.  The preservation guarantee is truly an international warranty because each member honors the guarantee of every other member no matter where in the world they may be.

The organization’s trademarked MuseumCareTM preservations are Endorsed by the Association of Bridal Consultants, the professional organization dedicated to wedding planners and professionals worldwide, and are also recommended by many designers and manufacturers.

Owl Cleaners is a recognized expert in the industry and cleans hundreds of specialty gowns each year.  Among Owl Cleaners’s most recent projects were EmpowerWear and Toys for Tots.  Serving the Pittsburgh area for more than 65 years, Owl Cleaners has five locations and is a member of America’s Best Cleaners.
